NATIONAL BOOK AWARD
Eleanor’s Wars won the International Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Gold Medal Award for Best New Voice in Fiction in Salt Lake City on April 8, 2016!
On June 14 at 6 p.m. Ames will give a talk on women and World War I as part of the Northfield Historical Society’s History Happy Hour at Loon Liquors Distillery in Northfield, MN.
On April 24 Ames gave a talk about the roles American women played during World War I, and then read from Eleanor’s Wars at the Comstock House in Moorhead, MN. Click below for an audio interview with Prairie Public Radio that preceded the event.
Other recent readings from Eleanor’s Wars were at the Author Fest hosted by Beagle and Wolf Books in Park Rapids, MN; the Tucson Festival of Books, Tucson, AZ; the Red Wing Public Library, Red Wing, MN; and at a variety of Rotary Club meetings across the Twin Cities.
